Villa San Michele

Built on the ruins of a small chapel from which it is named, Villa San Michele enjoys a stunning view over the entire island. It retains many archaeological finds, a Greek tomb and the famous granite sphinx. Along with the Blue Grotto is the most visited place in Capri.

It is the oldest monastery in Capri, built in 1371. This splendid structure, partially restored, now houses the museum dedicated to the work of the German painter Karl Wilhelm Diefenbach.

Villa Jovis

Villa Jovis was one of the twelve residences that the Roman emperor Tiberius built on the island of Capri. From here he ruled the empire for over eleven years. Built in the 1st century AD, it extends over an area of about 7,000 square meters and dominates much of the Gulf of Naples.

Blue Grotto

The Blue Grotto owes its name to the characteristic blue tonality of water, due to the external light that filters through a narrow opening. In Roman times it was the nymphaeum of a villa that has disappeared today. Forgotten for centuries, it was only rediscovered in 1826 by the German artist August Kopisch.

Faraglioni di Capri

Faraglioni, famous all over the world, can be admired from the gardens of Augustus. Already quoted by Homer in Odyssey (they would be the boulders launched by Polifemo against Ulysses) are also the only habitat of the famous blue lizard.
