The Turin Museum holds the most extensive collection of the artists works, which were bequeathed by friend and heir Giovanni Camerana. The selection, among two-hundred and fifty papers from the GAM collection, underlines the vibrancy and the variations of the forms, techniques and drawing style that characterized Fontanesis interpretation of landscape throughout the years. Moreover it also presents his less conventional subjects of figure and life drawing. Among the exhibited works, the Wunderkammer includes the great and challenging fusain drawings, in which the charcoal line is softened into such intangible and undefined gradations that the fascinating results can certainly be compared to those of a painting.
