La giostra del Saracino - September

The jousting contest is an old chivalric game dating back to the Middle Ages, which developed out of a form of military training devised to simulate battle. The city steps back in time, with people in costumes, flag-wavers, processions and the joust itself, which offers a golden lance for the winner.
